Daniel lives in Croatia, i think the river he is fishing is local to him.

I have caught barbel on the Wye whilst shad fishing a couple of years back......well one of them anyway.

I know of a fair few caught on pike dead baits, usually small baits like sprats etc.

Their predator/scavenger instinct is strong.
