God enough questions. Collingham Weir is the tidal limit. Depending where you are water can go up and down a foot or four feet!

Not unless the tide goes over Collingham weir
One and the same weir Dave??
depending on which bank you're on, not sure of the
correct
name but I know it as Collingham because that's the bank I've fished!!

Before the barbel boom it was always called Cromwell weir, now it seems to be referred to as Collingham weir. Funny old world.

It can go up and down a hell of a lot more than that!
A good tide here will cover most of the darker green stuff.

If it rains a lot the tide can be even higher. I was talking about normal conditions,

The best river in the world, its great when its 15ft up and the waters lapping around the top of the flood bank and you can still catch barbel.
You can get a tide book from the lock keeper at Cromwell weir or from British Waterways at Newark will post you one(01636704481), costs £1.50 (barging!!!!)
