Coarse Angling Today

The magazine for the ambitious coarse fisherman

Coarse Angling Today is the monthly journal for the ambitious coarse fisherman in the England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

This magazine broke the mould for coarse fishing magazines in the UK and Ireland. Prior to the advent of Coarse Angling Today, all magazines for the Coarse Fisherman wanting to improve their fishing techniques had become almost dominated by a total coverage of carp fishing, However, we realised that a more distinctive and specialised approach to coarse fishing magazines was required. An approach which gave total prominence to fishing for coarse fish species like barbel, tench, roach, bream. Our competitors have struggled to catch up ever since as we show them that not every coarse angler is only interested in fishing for carp, and that the modern coarse fisherman is just as likely to target other species.

Barbel and chub fishing is an especial focus for the magazine, as is fishing for tench. However, we also realise that plenty of coarse fisherman go fishing for other coarse fish species like roach, bream, dace, crucian carp, pike, zander.

Our list of contributors who write articles for Coarse Angling Today reads like a veritable who's who of specialist coarse fisherman. Stef Horak, Phil Smith, Tony Miles, Dave Tipping, Jim Gibbinson, Terry Lampard, Len Arbury, Pete Reading, Bob Church, Bill Rushmer, Archie Braddock, Chris Turnbull, Steve Stayner and many more. All providing information on baits, boilies, methods and tackle. Covering venues as diverse as the River Ouse, River Trent, Yorkshire Rivers such as the Swale, Derwent, Ouse. The River Severn and River Ribble, Hampshire Avon, gravel pits, lakes, canals and many more major rivers and lakes.
